Other names: Hora from Sarid (הורה של שריד), Chulu Na (חולו נא) or just Chulu. Circle dance, choreographer unknown, approximately 1945.

The dance is named after Kibbutz Sarid, near Migdal HaEmekl in the Jezreel Valley of northern Israel. The name of the kibbutz is taken from a biblical city mentioned in Joshua 19:10.

The composer of the tune is Ya'akov Ben-Ari, a member of the kibbutz. The lyricist, however, is unknown.

The dance, as Hora Shel Sarid, appears in the first issue of Hava Nirkoda, 1949, edited by Gurit Kadmon. Many variants exist. According to the 1987 Folk Dance Problem Solver, the first publication of the dance in the US was in 1947 by Katya Delakova and Fred Berk.

Another reported name for the dance is VaYechulu.
